Now we are fast approaching hte present era of Doctor Who as we steamroller into the end of 2005 and, for the first time ever, a Doctor Who Christmas special. However, we saw little of the newly regenerated Doctor, him being confined to his bed until the end. But what a Doctor he was! David Tennant was the man who, for many, would become their Doctor. Gone was the battle scarred Doctor, fresh from the field of battle and here was Doctor that was manic and extible, loving every second of danger which presented itself to him. He quickly rose through the ranks of people's favorite Doctors, establishing himself as many peoples favorites. Then, in 2008, after winning a National Television Award David announced that he would be leaving Doctor Who after the planned 2009 specials. You could almost hear the hearts of thousands of girls breaking at that news. David, while not my favorite Doctor by a long shot, does hold a special place in my heart when it comes to Doctor Who. If it can be said that Christoper Eccleston was responsible for getting Doctor's foot in the door of public awareness then David certainly smashed the door open for the television show.
The Tenth Doctor
The lonely angel
Hiding his eternal sadness and loneliness behind a desire to place his life in danger
Sacrificed his life for a friend after a battle with his own people
Undeniably afraid of his own death
Put off the change in order to get his reward; ‘I don’t want to go!”
Totally agree! David Tennant made Doctor Who cool and introduced an entirely new generation to just how wonderful the universe could be if you were with a mad man in a blue box.
