The Third Doctor

Now, after a short interlude, we return to my comments about the numerous Doctors. Tonight we touch upon the early 1970s and the third Doctor, as played by the late Jon Pertwee. Once again the Doctor Who team were playing with fire, not only was it another new main actor but it was also the shows first foray into colour television. Once more the show teetered on an edge but the brilliant performance by Pertwee proved once more that Doctor Who was here to stay. A complete opposite to Pat's Doctor Jon's still carried with him a sense of justice that was carried through every incarnation of the Time Lord.

The Third Doctor
The dandy stuck on Earth
A dislike for authority and bureaucrats
A man of action, a master of Venusian aikido
A hero of the Victorian model, every bit the gentlemen
Faced a race of giant spiders and met his end at their hands
